“We are asleep. Our life is a dream. But we wake up sometimes, just enough to know that we are dreaming.”
– Ludwig Wittgenstein

Ys Goldt works in sound, image, and code, shaping quiet artefacts from signal, static, and silence. Her compositions emerge from layered field recordings, decaying transmissions, morse rhythms, and fragments of forgotten speech, forming slow-moving collages that linger at the edges of recognition.

Much of her work begins in listening, deep, prolonged, and often solitary. She gathers sounds from radio drift, forest floors, machine hums, archival reels. These elements are processed through analogue tools, algorithmic filters, and intuition, stitched together not to narrate, but to haunt.

Alongside sound, she crafts visual pieces and writes poetry that mirrors this logic of residue and reconstruction, where pattern is a form of memory, and noise is a form of meaning.
